Social Welfare Department of Jammu And Kashmir State is established to safeguard the interests’ weaker sections of the society such as Schedule Caste (SC), Other Backward Caste (OBC), Economic Backward Classes (ECB), Physically Challenged (PCP) & Denotified Nomadic & Semi-Nomadic (DNTs). Social Welfare Department also works for the welfare of Senior Citizens, Widows, Poor girls and Orphans.
Social Welfare Department Jammu & Kashmir launched numerous schemes for the welfare of weaker sections of society.
Social Welfare Department Jammu invites online applications under post-matric scholarship scheme from students belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC), Other Backward Caste (OBC), Economic Backward Classes (ECB), Physically Challenged (PCP) & Denotified Nomadic & Semi-Nomadic (DNTs) for the year 2018-19.
Eligibility criteria:
a. Applicant should be student belonging to one of the below said categories:-
i. Schedule Caste (SC)
ii. Other Backward Caste (OBC)
iii. Economic Backward Classes (ECB)
iv. Physically Challenged students(PCP)
v. & Denotified Nomadic & Semi-Nomadic (DNTs)
b. Applicant must be pursuing 11th, 12th, Diploma, Graduation/Post-Graduation Level Courses, B.Ed, M.phil, Ph.D. & Professional/Technical Degree Courses at the graduate and postgraduate levels.
c. The Income limit prescribed for applicants from various categories is as under:-
i. Other Backward Classes (OBCs) /Economically Backward Classes (EBCs) & Physically Challenged Persons (PCPs) – Rs. 01.00 Lac per annum.
ii. Schedule Caste (SC) and Denotified Nomadic & Semi-Nomadic Tribes (DNTs) – Rs. 02.50 Lac
Documents Required:
i. One Passport size photograph.
ii. Permanent Residence Certificate (PRC).
iii. Fee Receipt.
iv. Duly attested promotion certificate in case student has passed the previous examination.
v. Valid hosteller’s certificate issued by Institution.
vi. Attested fee structure duly approved by the Central/State Government in case of private Institutions only.
vii. Income Certificate issued by Tehsildar for the year 2018-19.
viii. Valid category certificate.
ix. Disability certificate indicating 40% or above disability for Physically challenged students.
x. Aadhar card (aadhar must be linked with a bank account of applicant).
xi. Affidavit duly attested by the notary to be submitted/enclosed with a hard copy of online Application.

i. Mobile number and e-mail are mandatory for online application.
ii. Firstly applicant needs to register for online application.
iii. Applicant has to upload scanned photograph (size less than 20kb) before registration.
iv. Fill the form stepwise and upload documents and submit your online application.
All students are advised to take print-out of their application after successful submission online
And submit the same to the concerned Institution.
